I read the first nine books as a teenager and loved them, so when I found the tenth book at a used bookstore, I couldn't resist. I didn't remember all of the details about the mysteries and adventures involving the Baudelaires, but I still enjoyed this installment. Thinking about it from a child's perspective, there are some rather dark topics in these books. I hope this doesn't dissuade parents from allowing children to read this series. Children will encounter things like death, so I find it refreshing that an author would address how terrible something like that can make a child feel.

I liked this book, through for me it's getting a bit tiresome before answers are revealed. However, I once more enjoyed the things the Baudelaires went through.
