I first read this book when I was at highschool over 10 years ago and it was my first foray into a tough female heroine. I loved this book. I love the world that Tamora Pierce has built!

Hmmm, what to say. Nice, crisp writing. Good theme. Nice main character. I don't get it when people call her a bit of a Mary Sue though. She has to work hard to get where she is. Language is really simple. It's a light read. Would recommend if you had nothing better to do.
Ya book but quite nice for a quick easy read when you dont want to leave bed on a sunday!!!
It doesn't matter how many times I read this series, I still adore it.
