this wasn’t a bad book at all—it just wasn’t for me. had i not been reading this for book club, i probably would’ve dnf’ed. i felt it was too slow and i didn’t connect with the main character in any way. i felt distanced from her and the story itself. again, it wasn’t bad, just wasn’t for me.

4.5 stars.
I’m only docking the half star because the beginning dragged and it took over 100 (e-book) pages to know what the story was about (because I’m an avid blind reader).
Any story about a daughter and her dad will sucker punch me in the gut. Hits too close.
This is a new story that reminds me of 13 going on 30 (in reverse) meets Big meets About Time.
Once I knew what the story was about, I couldn’t wait to get back to reading and finding out what happens next. Once I hit that 100 page mark, I thought I knew exactly how it would end and wasn’t excited. However, that’s not what happens. And the time-travel isn’t about the meaning of it. Ugh, if books made me cry, this one would do it.

I hope both my cats may become as ancient as Ursula.
