This was such a heartbreaking, gut wrenching read and I feel as though words cannot express how deeply I care for this book. The way Charlie had the opportunity to be better once she got out of the facility she was placed in after her suicide attempt yet chose the path she knew would ruin her and set her back to that terrible mental state. Having to be put through the horrid events she’s experienced from such a young age bc of her environment, was hard to read about bc we know she deserves better yet she doesn’t feel she’s worthy of getting it.

The beginning of her end was her upbringing with her parents who had many problems of their own and bringing her into their world, just seemed to make it worse. The catalyst of it all was definitely what she was put through by her best friend Elise. Sure she was her only friend but that didn’t necessarily mean she was a good influence in Charlie’s life especially after she started getting mixed up in substances, bad boyfriends and bringing those issues to Charlie.

I’ve teared up and cried and straight up paused the audiobook several times bc of the contents in the book. Whether it was from genuine disbelief in the bad decisions Charlie continued to make, the shit other characters put her through (both in the past and present) or from knowing that the story can only end one of two ways 1. She relapses & cuts herself to death or 2. She finds the strength to get the proper support she needs in order to create the life she wants and deserves for herself bc she’s still a kid with a bright future ahead. I’m happy it ended the way it did, with Charlie getting closure from Riley at the concert and her on the way to achieve her dreams of becoming an artist as she starts a letter to Elise. It was the official end to that era of her life so she can truly gain the happiness she needs after a lifetime of misery.

It is dark but ends well and is something you might yell at the characters at at times but is really good

I can't believe this book as been sitting on my shelf for so long, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. I can't recommend this book enough to every single person I meet, because honestly it would takes a thousand years to give you all my thought on this book.

But it's just so well written and heart retching that I think half my thoughts on this book would just be tears and sobs.

I would also like to say while this book does not go into very graphic detail of certain things mentioned in the content warnings I still warn you it's better to be safe then sorry. And just not risk reading or even listening to this book if you think you could be heavily triggered by anything in this book.

Oh my god!!! When I first read the synopsis I thought it was about a 17 year old girl finding her self. And it is that it is waaay more then they this book is very very heavy. It made me cry more then one time. I’m not upset about the way it ended per say but I’m also not thrilled. 1st off Riley is such a terrible person and I hate that he took advantage of Charlie’s mental state. But I’m glad he got better in the end. 2nd when Casper told Charlie that she was getting out of the mental institution I was like WHAT?!?! As the reader I could tell she wasn’t ready to leave yet but I know it just made the book itself better. And my point is proven which everything she does up until trying to kill herself whenever Wendy destroys her apartment. At first I thought Blues was gonna be a bad influence in was right in the sense of her doing drugs again and being apart of 1 of the many reasons Charlie tried to kill herself. But also wrong because after all that happened Blue and her became family. Riley’s sister I forget her name I feel like she should have been waaay more attention to Riley then she was especially knowing his history. I’m a sister and I know I would have made sure my brother was mentally and physically okay with the back history that Riley has. I’m glad Riley finally became better but I think he needs to do more to earn Charlie’s forgiveness. And i think if he does do more to earn Charlie’s forgiveness Charlie still shouldn’t take him back. I loved this book I really did like I said I love when an author is so good at making a story in there head that it comes out on paper so good that they can make readers cry. That is so true and raw talent right
there.

⚠️TRIGGER WARNING:⚠️ self harm such as cutting burning and pinching. Alcohol abuse. & Drug abuse.

Overall i am going to be rating this book 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hope this helped🖤
