Summer Heat is a collection of short and steamy romances, absolutely perfect for the beach or when you are stuck in an airport! Just make sure you have some water with you as you might need to cool down. Every story is different, ranging from contemporary to paranormal, to rock stars and the military. In my opinion, there is literally something here for everyone.
All of the stories flowed, with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. There is simply no story that I felt was a 'filler', and far too many to choose just one favourite! Absolutely recommended by me - for that perfect summer read; or if you want to remember those hot, halcyon days when it is cold outside.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

This is a great summer read with a lot of short stories by authors that I know and mostly many that I don’t know. What I liked about this book is that I could read 1 or 2 short stories and then go and read another book then come back and read a couple more of these books. So, if you are looking for some short & hot reads then choose Summer Heat. I give this Anthology 4 stars. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
A diverse collection of hot short stories to read under the sun (and re-read in November when you need some heat!)
The Research Trip by Christina Rose Andrews: 4.5* - I've never been to Hawaii but if this island, its beaches and its fruits have this effect to the heroine's husband, I will definitively book my flight pretty soon. For healthy food lovers.
Summer Nights by Ariel Bishop: 4.5* - the dream of every woman: spending some time at the house of a gorgeous hot movie star, who is not intimidated by a woman telling what she wants in bed! Add to it a funny doggy, a swimming pool with an incredible view, and some home made lasagna, and you have the perfect recipe for a hot summer night! And it was only the second night of her stay in LA; who knows what might happen during the next weeks???
Irresistible by Caitlyn Lynch: 3* - this M/F/M threesome did not convince me. It's the first for the heroine, it's her first DP, but she just goes with the flow, accepting a very tempting proposal by two gorgeous ("of course" one is a dark Middle-Eastern and the other a blond All American) men, she thought were gay. Felt too much unrealistic.
Parted Veils by Líadáin Douglas: 2* - this story describes the first time Bridget has sex. It is set in a fantasy world and she experiences it with a male Fae who can't remain in her world for more than one night. The story is well written, but the scene is very slow and the heat level is almost non-existing. Not my type of story.
The Gardener by Sera Taino: 3* - this story tells an afternoon encounter between a 30 years old woman and her 22-year old gardener/college student. It was ok; what I didn't like was the fact that she considered herself "old"; nowadays I wouldn't define a 30-year old women as old, but the heroine makes a big deal out of the age difference.
Siren's Call by Gwen Marshall: 3.5* - this story includes the most detailed sexual intercourse read so far in this collection, but it just lacked of feelings. The two characters start of as both being very sweet and nerdy, but when you finally expect to see the heat rise, it was just a long description of how he mapped her body with his kisses. Furthermore, the title of the story somehow is misleading: I was expecting some kind of supernatural experience between two inhabitants of the sea finding each other and discovering their mermaid ancestry, but even though there were several hints to a connection with the sea and its stirring power on their sexual connection, this aspect is no further developed. Sad, could have been interesting.
Storm in a teacup by Ava Bari: 4.5* - This story is written from the POV of a very happy, sweet, dedicated husband madly in love with his wife and it tells how he manages to help her survive a very stormy first wedding anniversary. A man to fall in love with, a very lucky woman!
Taking Chances by T. D. Crawls: 2* - the whole story felt cold. Even the sex scenes were cold. Just couldn't feel the attraction between these two characters.
The Flooding of Ar by Abbigail Clark: 4.5* - who knows, perhaps in ancient Egypt chantresses did in fact meet their god in a sexual haze. This was truly a godly experience!
Bliss by Annika Steele: 4.5* - two divorcees, three matchmaking teenage girls, an afternoon without the kids, a woman who is not afraid of asking, a man who goes along and the summer fling continues in autumn. Perfect!
Just the Three of us by Moxie Rivers: 5* - I love menage stories, so this story was perfect for me. A married couple move in a new apartment and start a new chapter of their relationship with their best friend.
The Marine's Temptation by Livvy Ward: 5* - take a Marine back from Afghanistan, his frumpy-turned-gorgeous sister's best friend he'd known 12 years before and an assistance puppy, all travelling to a wedding by car, and you get this explosive reunion of two kindred souls in bed.
Bare Knuckled Love by Cynthia Miller: 5*++ - HOT, HOT, HOT...did I say HOT? Oh and also a little sweet.
Yearning by Siobhan Kearney: 4.5* - supernatural love story of a ghost and a gardener. Can we expect a HEA? Sweet, hot, touching
A cup of coffee and an offshore wind by Avery J. Heath: 3* - I usually like menage stories, but in this case I just couldn't feel the connection between the characters. Noah, in particular, had a strange behavior, didn't seem that much involved, always subtly criticizing Grace's lifestyle, even when he was supposed to concentrate on the gorgeous naked woman in front of him.
Love in the Water by Tally Bane: 4.5* - this story could be a perfect Epilogue for an intense love story with drama, friends-turned-lovers, opposite attraction (Hawaiian cop with Eastern beauty shop owner)
Instant Connection by Tricia Ramey: 5* - Grand finale of this collection! Loved it! Love at first sight of two good hot gorgeous people, who deserve their HEA!
The Research Trip by Christina Rose Andrews: 4.5* - I've never been to Hawaii but if this island, its beaches and its fruits have this effect to the heroine's husband, I will definitively book my flight pretty soon. For healthy food lovers.

Seventeen authors. Seventeen stories that are unique to each.
Each story, all seventeen of them, are different from each other in not just the writing style but also in the way they are written and presented.
These stories, even though different, have one trope and that is all of them have your everyday female characters. You see them taking charge and going after what they want and not being shy about it.
While all the stories live up to the title of the anthology and are super hot and deal with insta-love, the added sweetness between the couples was just the touch that added something "more" in the stories.
My favorite out of the lot would be —
Irresistible by Caitlyn Lynch because who doesn't love a hot and heavy M/F/M.
Parted Veils of Midsummer by Líadáin Douglas was my absolute favorite of the lot and something I wouldn't mind if the author expanded it a few more pages.
Perfect for those looking for a collection of short and steamy books with a dash of sweetness!
PS. Even though I am still reading, this is my final review. However, I will be adding to the favorite list as I only have a handful of the stories to go through.
4 Stars!

Lots of fun and steamy stories. I was impressed with how much backstory many of the authors fit in to such short stories.
This is a collection of steamy stories, great for reading at the beach.
The Research Trip - Serena is a business woman, who believes that she isn't taken seriously by her coworkers because she is a woman. Her husband, Frank, accompanies her on a business trip, and helps take her mind off of everything by making sure she's busy in the bedroom. Very hot, very sexy book.
Summer Nights - Lauren is writer. She flies to California to meet Josh Davis, a movie star that's going to help her with her manuscript. Instant connection, but Lauren wants to keep their relationship somewhat professional. Of course, that doesn't happen!
Irresistible - Melanie is feeling down and alone while she attends her sister's wedding. She finally gets a moment to slip out, and is given an opportunity to tap into her wild side with Jordan and Saul. This is a VERY hot and sexy book, but you can also feel the tenderness of the men.
Parted Veils of Midsummer - This is more of a fairy-themed story than the others. Brigid is in a land (made me think of Scotland/Ireland) and meets Mavren during the Midsummer Festival. She has an instant connection to him, even though he is otherworldly, and they spend the night together. This story is a little fantastical, but an easy read.
The Gardener - Elena has the hots for her gardener, Ben. She feels silly, because she's so much older than him, but gets a pleasant surprise when he expresses his interest in her. This is a great Mrs. Robinson type story.
Siren's Call - Nerissa heads to Greece for a trip that was given to her by a wealthy family member. She meets Theo, and sparks fly. Nerissa certainly gets more than she expects. Very sexy story.
Storm In a Teacup - Kira and Alex are newlyweds, and Alex is getting ready to celebrate their anniversary, when a thunderstorm appears. Kira is afraid of thunderstorms, so Alex has to find a way to take her mind off of the storm. He is very creative with his distractions!
Taking Chances - Lila is ecstatic when she wins a vacation to a getaway to the Great Smoky Mountains; she was entered by her friends and coworkers. She meets Matthew while she's there and decides to have a little fun. This is a fun read.
The Flooding of Ar - I'm sorry to say, I didn't finish reading this. The idea didn't interest me.
Bliss - Chloe and her daughters are on vacation at the beach when Chloe happens upon Simon. They decide to finish the vacation together, but Chloe and Simon are drawn to each other. Chloe decides to do something for herself for once. This was a sweet story.
Just the Three of Us - Josh and Emily have just moved into their house. Dan is a friend, and they decide to have him move in with them. Their relationship opens up to include another person, and does it sizzle! Very hot book!
The Marine's Temptation - Nate is driving to his sister's wedding when she calls needing favor. Her best friend, Maggie needs a ride to the wedding. He reluctantly agrees, he can't say no! You end up seeing the softer side of Nate, and it's cute.
Bare-knuckled Love - Lucy is definitely not a girly-girl. She's a loner, and a writer. She meets her neighbor, Reed, when he falls in the hallway of their apartment complex. Reed is even more of a loner than Lucy. They slowly start spending more time together. This is a cute book.
Yearning - Rachel is a ghost who is attached to her home. She goes about day after day, stuck watching her house be neglected. She gets a surprise when a landscaper starts cleaning up her backyard. Ian gets a shock when he sees Rachel, he knows that she is a ghost. This is also a sweet story with a cute ending.
A Cup of Coffee with an Offshore Wind - Grace works for a coffee shop on the boardwalk. Jack and Noah are her regulars. They have a preposition for her that's unbelievable. Very hot story.
Love in the Water - Gail and Kai go to Hawaii so that Gail can meet Kai's family. His family is intense, but Kai loves Gail, and he shows her exactly how much in hot and steamy ways.
Instant Connection - Aphry is helping with her sister's wedding. She meets Seth, who turns out to be the groom's best friend. Seth makes it clear that he wants more than just a fling with Aphry. Very steamy story!
I reviewed this anthology for Kylie's Fiction Addiction.
