I added a star after my reread of this book, probably because I wasn't expecting a realistic mystery the second time around. There are lots of twists and turns to this adventure and the hero is incredibly lucky to survive for book two.

Quite enjoyable, but the solution to the mystery is pretty obvious from the off and the detective's thought processes are spelled out very clearly, should anyone need them. Quite an enjoyable romp, but I would neither encourage, nor deter anyone from reading it.
