Two stars for the town. What in Sam Hill did I just read? Did it even have an ending? Idk. Not my cup of tea.

I loved the first half of this book and then the characters all started to annoy me. They all had things that they couldn’t get past and seemed to act way younger then their age. I know this book is getting quite a few high ratings, so it might have just been me. But unfortunately this one just left me annoyed

Uninterested

This was certainly a book. Genuinely it was as if a Hallmark script was made into a novel. I didn’t love the writing style, a lot more telling than showing of the plot and internal conflicts. And none of the internal conflicts were believable to me. Like just get over it?? Definitely Christmas-y and a nice premise but that’s it.

Cute and easy holiday read

This was a cute holiday read. I love small town romances, and this one featured two for us to follow. Wishing Tree sounded like the perfect little town, especially around Christmastime. If you are looking for a heart-warming, no-fuss holiday read, I would recommend this one.

Home Sweet Christmas is the second book in the Wishing Tree series and is set yet again during the Christmas season.

This can be read as a standalone book but for a few reasons recommend reading the previous book before tackling this one. For starters, both novels are set in the same town meaning there are cameos from the first book and potential spoilers if you do decide to read both. Secondly, I personally did not enjoy this one as much as The Christmas Wedding Guest so if you are only going to read one, I would recommend going with that one.

Just like the one before, this book had two parallel love stories told from all four persepctives. In the first one it was about two sisters while this one was focuses on two "brothers." Camryn was mentioned in the previous book and so I was expecting to see her as a main character in this one along side Paisley. I was half right! However, making Jake Crane the main beau was something I did not see coming. I struggled a little bit with the idea that this was the same Jake mentioned in the first once. I came into the book already disliking him and already rooting against him. However, I quickly forgot how he did my girl Reggie dirty, and he quickly became one of the best book boyfriends! I enjoyed their story the most: a crazy mom, an adorable puppy and twin sisters, what's not to like!

Dylan and River were brand new characters who had not been previously mentioned which I thought it was strange choice. I enjoyed both of them and their storyline enough, it just wasn't what I was expecting.

I adore the town of Wishing Tree and all the unique characters who bring the town to life. I'm hoping for a third book and to finally see Paisley get her own love story!
