Well... this series and author? Yeah, they definitely have my attention

These are simple fast books nothing really new but they are addictive. This is a series of 9. They are trying to bring down a trafficking ring that goes deep but after just finishing book 4 I just don’t get enough of any story. Nothing brings us closer to major players. I’m afraid there is no story. Or that it won’t be worth it in the end. Moving on :-)

After their house burns down Rhyth's mom suddenly moves them in with Caleb, Nick, and Tobias and their dad and and suddenly her mom's engaged (which she didn't know about). The boys aren't happy and start to bully her but that doesn't last. It turns out there's a secret society of sorts their parents are involved in and are selling her into. Cliffhanger while the boys try to get her back.

Slow

Bit of a slow start tbh but it ramped up to the end which is good. Her mum is a piece of work that's for sure

Idk how I keep getting tricked into reading these brainrotted reverse harems but I’ve had enough dude.

Mine was such a gripping and addictive start to the Blood Ties series! From the very first chapter, I knew I was in for something dark, emotional, and full of tension. A.K. Rose pulled me right into a world of dangerous secrets, forbidden attraction, and high-stakes drama, and I honestly couldn’t put it down.

What really hooked me was the atmosphere. The story has this simmering intensity that never lets up—whether it’s the suspense of what’s happening around the characters or the crackling chemistry between them. Every scene felt charged, like something big was about to happen, and that sense of anticipation kept me glued to the page.

The romance was everything I hoped for in a dark, forbidden love story. It’s messy, complicated, and all-consuming, but that’s what made it so compelling. The push-and-pull between the characters had me both frustrated and swooning at the same time, and when they finally gave in to what was between them? Fireworks. What I appreciated most, though, was that beneath all the steam, there was a real emotional core. You could feel the vulnerability behind the walls they tried so hard to keep up.

The characters themselves were layered and flawed in ways that made them feel real. I loved that they weren’t perfect heroes or heroines—they made mistakes, they wrestled with guilt and fear, and they sometimes hurt each other. But that’s exactly what made me root for them: I wanted to see them grow, heal, and find a way to be together despite everything stacked against them.

The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that the pacing was uneven in a few spots. There were moments where the story slowed down with too much inner monologue, and I wanted the plot to push forward a little faster. That said, those lulls were minor compared to how much I enjoyed the overall ride.

By the time I reached the ending, I was completely hooked and already desperate for book two. Mine set up the series perfectly: enough closure to satisfy, but with so many threads left dangling that I can’t wait to see where it all goes.

Overall, Mine was an intense, emotional, and seriously addictive start to the Blood Ties series. If you love dark romance with forbidden vibes, flawed but unforgettable characters, and just the right mix of angst and heat, this is a must-read. Four stars from me, and I’m diving straight into the next one.

Mine

A gripping story from A.K. Rose that had me from the start and didn’t let go. The world created will have you asking more questions than answers are given as this series kicks off with a bang. The characters are written with grit, fire and determination and just a little bit of dominance. A female character who finds her strength and her harem who find her! A great read!!
