The first and foremost thing I have to say about this book is that I had no real idea what I was expecting going in. There is no TW list in the book and the link to the TWs is broken. I searched the authors website for it and couldn't find it. This book leans HEAVY into the taboo stepsibling troupe, which I was aware was going to be there but not so much. It wasn't necessarily a problem for me, but it's like the main point of the book. The plot is kind of all over the place, but let's be real I wasn't reading for the plot 😂 I think the sequel will have more of the plot and I am going to finish the trilogy.

I honestly didn’t know what to expect going into this read. I knew it was an RH and was step brothers but all of the other underlying microtropes and additional elements kind of blew me away. I devoured this book in one sitting and had to promptly read the next in the series.
The secrets and hidden agendas are wild. The cliffhanger was unfriendly and I am grateful I read this at a time where I could move immediately into the next book. If you are looking for a face paced, hate to love stepbrothers romance with dark elements- this is 100% for you.

I can't get behind the fmc being in high school
Meh. This was a bit dark for me. I generally don't mind but the characters were so angry for basically no reason. Also, they are obsessed with the "little sister" thing. This is clearly NOT my kink. I feel like it didn't need to be mentioned so much. The premise for a good steamy dark read was there but for me it fell a little off the mark. It is 4/5 for spice.
