A wonderful read from my childhood, one I’d certainly suggest for other youngsters. Whilst it is not my all-time favourite childhood read I can still recall all the details of this one meaning it certainly left a lasting impression upon my young mind.

And isn’t that what we want with children’s books, for them to leave a positive lasting impression?

I enjoyed this title. It has been almost 15 years since I've picked up and read a Captain Underpants book, but Dav Pilkey's still got it. This was a quick and fun read. I like the puns and play on words which keep things interesting not only for elementary readers, but older students as well. As a public librarian I find that these are great books to recommend to some of our "reluctant readers" because they have just the right combination of action and humor. I enjoy Pilkey's descriptive writing and the way he helps his young readers to expand their vocabulary in an engaging and fun manner.

For me this fell a bit short after the delirious insanity of books 9 & 10. Still a fun read though

As with all of the Captain Underpants books, this is greatly entertaining and laugh out loud funny. This is exactly the type of book which can take reluctant readers from not wanting to pick up a book, to avid readers. The illustrations as always add so much to the story, adding humour, wit and greater detail to the wonderful story. Though this book is the eleventh in the series, you can read this as a stand alone book rather than reading the previous ten before picking this one up! If you have read just a few of the Captain Underpants books as I had prior to reading this, then it's more than sufficient to pick up and read this book.

This is a great book if you want a laugh, even as an adult! With the customary Captain Underpants hilarious antics with bum jokes, giant robots and talking toilets this will be exactly the kind of book that boys will want to pick up from the shelves at school. The best thing about this series of book are that they make reading fun. As well as all the benefits of reading, the best you will ever find is that reading is fun! Getting children to read for pleasure is one of the best things you can ever do for a child and this is one of those books which can change pupils attitudes towards reading. It's plain silly and all a bit nonsense really, but who cares! If we spent too much time analysing children's books our brains would explode.

Great fun, entertaining and laugh out loud funny. A brilliant book to share with children on their journey to reading for pleasure. Well worth a read!
