I read one of the teachings each day, starting the book over once I reach the end. Despite this, they are new each time, and, very often, precisely the lesson I needed to hear.

It was a very easy read because it was short sections around a topic. Some of them definitely helped when I was feeling anxious about my dad being in the hospital.

I think I would have enjoyed this more if I had read it instead of listened to the audiobook.

I was introduced to the writings of Buddhist monk Pema Chodron in the book "Love Warrior", and as someone who is going through a battle of her own, the titles spoke to me. I'm not a Buddhist, but I was enlightened by these teachings. They have a universal applicability - essentially, how to live the life you have, to accept it, and to brighten the lives of others, thereby brightening your own. Although I didn't love the format of the book (108 individual chapters often repeated the same message), the overall themes were beneficial and thought-provoking. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of her works.
