4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
just a fun book, really fast paced in the middle. The first part was a little too slow , but in the middle part we finally got to the plot. Loved the rep, the characters and romance. Zafira is my idol to be honest. Overall definitely enjoyed it and made me remember my love for (ya) fantasy again!

In a world inspired by ancient Arabia, Zafira is a skilled Hunter who disguises herself as a man in order to track down animals in the cursed forest of the Arz, hunting and killing them in order to feed her people. Nasir, on the other hand, is an assassin known as the Prince of Death and also happens to be the Sultan’s son. Both characters come from extremely different backgrounds and reluctantly play their roles in We Hunt the Flame, eventually joining forces on a journey on which neither wants to embark – uncover a lost artifact that can bring magic back to their world.

“Love is for children, said the girl.
Death is for fools, said the shadow.
Darkness is my destiny, said the boy.
Allegiance is my undoing, said the eagle.
Suffering is our fate, said the beauty.
And they were all horribly wrong.”

Has it ever happened to you that you look at something and its so beautiful that it robs you of words? Well, that's me with this book, and hey, its painful. I mean how could something have so many beautiful ways to describe it yet you cant think of a single one.

Ok lets start with the start. The intro, beginning, it was great. Interesting and ensnaring.

the plot, the story, the entire time on Sharr was just amazing. The occasional ifrits that sprung up from the sands, the sun that knew no east or west, and most of all the crackling fire in the dead of night, and the night itself that was filled with the characters' thoughts.

Zafirah's character was amazing. Yeah, sometimes she could be too stubborn and unkind but perhaps that's the nature of our huntress and I am perfectly fine with it.

Laa, I don't like Deen.

Nasir made me cry...rooh

Benjamin? I like him and specially his talk. I could read it all day and not get bored.

Kifa Dervish is another brilliant character and I love it when I picture her with that spear of hers.

Do I really need to talk about Altair? I mean, who doesn't like him? He is the legit soul of the book. I don't think it would've been the same thing if there was no Altair Al Badawi bin Laa Shay. I cant get enough of his humor

Overall, the plot was great. But I need to appreciate Hafsa's writing. So beautiful and poetic that the reader can never get bored. I savored every single line and it was as if her words had a taste.
