Oh goodness, this was so good. This picks up where book 4 left off, this time focusing on Sunny. Sunny the unusual Sandwing and virtual sunshine dragon. But Sunny isn't just a tiny ball of optimism with wings. She's been training and she's competent. It's a delight to see her set off to accomplish something on her own, and help her family (the Dragonets of Destiny) see that she is as clever and skilled as the rest of them.
This concludes the initial plot arc of The Wings of Fire, but don't worry. Our favorite dragons will return in book #6 along with a host of other characters facing an all new dilemma.
My recommendation for reading order of the Wings of Fire (WoF) series:
WoF #1-5
WoF Legends - Darkstalker
WoF #6-14
WoF Legends - Dragonslayer (this could be read after book #5, but that would spoil a sweet surprise present in book #14)
The WoF books follow a five book plot arc (with each book covering the growth arc of one character). If book 1 doesn't work for you, consider starting with book 6 or 11 to get invested in the world. Each book adds to the complexity of culture and history in the world, so you may miss a little if you skip books, but the overall plot and story will work.

I enjoyed the ending to this part of the series. I can't wait to see what happens next. I loved seeing inside Sunny's head and seeing her grow more confident in herself and her ideas.

A wonderful conclusion to the dragonet prophecy! Love Sunny’s growth in this book
I found this a beautiful conclusion to the first arc of wings of fire. I was extremely pleased with the outcome.
