Frank William Abagnale Jr. was born in the Bronx, New York City, on April 27, 1948. He became involved in a host of crimes... stealing cars, wracking up credit card debt, impersonating a pilot, cashing fraudulent checks. This memoir is really interesting, as it gets you inside the mind of a (largely) white collar criminal. This was also made into a movie feature Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. Overall, it was an alright read, and I am glad to have it off my shelf.
I liked the book! Although there were a lot of similar parts to the movie it was still quite different. The chapters were long, 30, 45, 50 minutes each on the Kindle which I find incredibly irritating.
Glad to finally have read the story that inspired one of my favourite movies! An engaging and wild read.
Totally loved reading this book. I loved his writing style and the way that he portrayed what he did, the commentary on the way he was able to pull off his crimes and con people. Many lessons I can learn on how to not be so gullible. I enjoyed the movie as well. I want to read Frank's other book as well.
In the beginning I thought this was just like the movie, but as the book progressed I learned how much of Frank Abagnale's scams we knew nothing about. The movie portrays the check scams as a simple, up front operation. Abagnale has to be a man of great intelligence to have successfully pulled off scams of such depth for so long. Very interesting read. I recommend it to anyone who liked the play or movie.

Forget the Disneyfied film version of his life, Frank Abagnale’s exploits are astounding and hilarious. His cons border on art in some cases, seeming more like Andy Kaufmanesque performance than crimes. Since he is a mature-looking 20year old romping around impersonating serious people, it has an infectious satiric spirit. He went straight and helps catch forgers now so his story has quite an arc. Memorable on many levels.
Frank, while reading this you've become my amazing best friend for a while. You blew my mind and I'll miss you. One of the rare books I know I'll have to reread.
I recommend to anyone who loves a good con man (or a good lie).
Edit : I know I've been conned into falling for your story, but this makes me grin even more.

It was an interesting story, but even if I didn't already know the facts had been embellished, I would have doubted some of the things he claims he got away with.
