enjoyed the story behind the author wanting to burn all her works is so interesting not to be basic and bring back everything to sally rooney my north star but the book was really good at all those little thoughts and moments and also the ugly truths of being a female and dealing with men and other women and validation etc all fun stuff

also really liked reading about all the characters and just overall rlly solid book

also like hating men kinda and not really respecting them but also being driven by their validation is just v interesting and i thought this book did a good and interesting job with it

also interesting as this book is older so like women's lives were even more intertwined with men, but also now even though there's less social pressures, I still thought the thought processes and observations felt really timeless

“As soon as men start dancing about and doing tricks and so on, you can’t take them seriously.” Unexpectedly hilarious, Min is a great narrator.

Only fitfully amusing, though there a a bunch of one-liners or bits of neat writing sprinkled throughout.  Perhaps a fair bit over my head in this sixties tale, with liberated women not *quite* ready to be too scandalous.  Nice moments of a perhaps building outside relationship with a work beau.

This book wasn't what I thought it would be from reading the blurb. Sometimes entertaining, but mostly not for me.
