I absolutely love this series, and this book is 100% on par with the rest of the series.
I’m again reminded why I love Gentry- bc he’s awesome. Do you know who was my low-key favorite in this? Hightower. His quips just make me happy. Our merry band of bad asses engage in some great action in this one. (And I’ve read this once three times in a year, so you know it’s good!)

Relentless. I have never come across a more apt title for a thriller. Relentless is just that from beginning to end. It is a pulse-pounding thriller that never lets up. Just when you think things are going to resolve, something new happens. Until the very end.

Zack Hightower (Court's former and current teammate) is sent to Venezuela to bring back a former NSA member who left with a program that can identify all spies. Zack is set-up, caught, and put in a Venezuelan prison. Court is recovering from a nasty infection from a knife wound (see One Minute Out). Matt Hanley pulls court out of receiving medical care and send him on a mission to get the NSA guy in Venezuela. While in Venezuela, Court runs into some American mercs and the NSA guy is killed.

Meanwhile, Zoya, another Poison Apple asset (Court's other teammate and potential love interest) is tasked with going to Germany and joining Shrike Group International, a private spy company run by a former Stasi officer. Someone (you find out who later, but I'm not telling), has told the Russians that Zoya is in Germany. The Russians want the former SVR agent dead. Court goes to Germany to shadow Zoya. Chaos ensues.

I struggle with how much to discuss the plot. I don't want to spoil it. You have to read this book. It's Court, Zack, and Zoya at their best. It's non-stop action. But what makes the Grey Man so special to me is that Court is dealing with human emotions, many for the first time. The breadth and depth of the book is satisfying and fun to read. Mark Greaney is a master in this genre and if you aren't reading his book, what's stopping you? They Grey Man never lets your down and always keeps you guessing. In a word, he's Relentless.

Very much enjoying the recent books. Making Court feel like a human, not just a soulless, emotionless, trigger puller. Very exciting and keeps you wanting to read more.

Great build up to a perched-on-the-edge-of-your-seat climax.

I found the story slightly confusing and a little bit pointless, not relentless. In my opinion, this entire book was written as a preface for the NEXT installment. And I do not appreciate that sentiment.

Plot COULD HAVE been much more succinct and much more action packed, but it was just eh.
