Interesting moral dilemma- well developed character

Good, but difficult read. Stealing humanizes the impact of Christian indoctrination on the Indigenous people. Narrated by Kit, a nine year old Cherokee, it tells the story of a child “stolen” and sent to a Christian boarding school.

Wow.  What a heartbreaking story.  The way the book is set up, you don't find out why it happened until later in the story.  It also further proves why the community is so untrusting of outsiders.  What has happened is a shame, and I don't blame them for how they feel about a certain community after reading this book.
