It is time for summer vacation and Avery’s parents decided to go big. They booked the family for two months in a family camp where there is no cell service and no Wi-Fi. This is hard to adjust to, but Avery soon finds a distraction in an off-limits staff member. Avery feels this is the best opportunity to try new things and test the boundaries of what her parents had planned for her. Will a summer romance be in Avery’s future? What limits will Avery stretch as she explores who she is?
Sunkissed is a stand-alone young adult romance that was a pleasure to read. This was a very fun experience because romance was not the main focus. There was the coming of age theme, building friendships and sibling issues weaved together. The journey before Avery becomes more than she expects and the outcome will leave readers glad they invested the time in the book. Sunkissed is a fun escape read that will appeal to readers of all ages.

3.5 stars. This was a cute, fairly clean romance for teens. 17 year-old Avery travels with her family to an internet-free camp for the summer. There she meets Brooks, who works at the camp doing various jobs, including playing in the dinner band. Fraternizing with guests is off limits, but Avery agrees to help Brooks with lyrics for an upcoming band competition and they end up spending a lot of time together. The story was pretty good, but it felt too long and some of the characters were a bit flat. An overall enjoyable read, but not the author's best work.
I always enjoy a story set at camp…maybe because I never went to camps, aside from Girl Scout camp. This is a cute story about a high school girl trying new things and standing up for herself. And of course there’s a cute boy too. This was a quick, light, fun summer read.
Really cute and fun. Will have to try more by this author

I wanted to love this book but I couldn’t. It was predictable, safe, and was lacking depth.
The storyline itself was cute - you can’t hate books that end in happy endings, so at least it had that going for it?

I absolutely love Kasie West’s books, so of course I couldn’t wait to check out Sunkissed as soon as I possibly could! If you’re looking for books to add to your summer TBR list, then you definitely need to check out this summer-themed romance.
I’m not sure what it is about Kasie West’s books that always make me want to read them in the summer time, but I’ve read two so far this season, and they were both great books! (Even when they aren’t summer-themed, they are just really fun reads.) Sunkissed was one of the books I read, but I also read Moment of Truth and enjoyed it as well!
Sunkissed is Kasie’s most recent release, and yes, it is summer-themed! Avery and her family spending 2 months of their summer at a remote family camp, leaving the outside world and all its distractions behind, sounds like the perfect summer setting and storyline for a book, right? Add in some adorable romance, and yes… this book has all the requirements for a great summer read! I loved so much about this book, but the setting really won me over. I love books about camp!
I also really enjoyed the characters in the book as well. Avery was an interesting main character. Brooks, the love interest, was adorable as well. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow as the book went along! I even liked Avery’s family as well, including the relationship between Avery and her sister. So many great characters!
Overall; If you’re looking for a cute romance to add to your summer reading list, Sunkissed by Kasie West is definitely one you should check out! This book was is such a cute read, and I’m so glad I was able to check it out.
Happy Reading!
