Hello lovely book readers, another YA contemporary-romance book review!

I’ve been a big fan of Kasie West’s books ever since I’d read “The Fill-in Boyfriend”. Her books are very cliche but there has something to it that I really, because her books are always light ad fluff read. So the first Isaw this new book from her on goodreads, I immediately added it to my TBR list. The synopsis of the book was interesting and ofc I really need a fun and light read after reading a lot of fantasy books in the month of April.

The Characters, So we have our female MC… Avery, she was not really feeling good about her camping-vacay with her parents and sister. Also she just caught her best friend and ex-boyfriend kissing which totally sucks. For me she was very relatable, like being a normal and very introverted teenage girl. She loves to listen to music 24/7 (just like me) and she was also the kind of person that doesn’t give a sh*t about the world. She was also very obedient towards her parents which was the very opposite of her rebel and outgoing little sister. For me, Avery was a good YA character because you can really see her growth towards the book, from obedient child to finding her real passion pace throughtout the book was great. She also doesn’t know what to do with her life after highschool and she reaized that she needed to find her true passion by trying out things she never did before (which was good). Then next we have is Brooks, the male mc. For me Brooks was very different among all the YA-romance-boy-mc specially with Kasie West’s books. She was very straightforward and also has dry humor. He was great male MC and I really liked his character in the book. Then lastly we have Avery’s little sister, parents and friends in the camping resort which was also very likeable.

The Plot, I really like the plot of this book I really did nt expect some things that happened in this book. Also it was fast pace and very easy to read. I also think that this book is more like a “coming-of-age” story. It has a very good message, specially for the young readers out there and also to those people who were searching for their true passion in life.

The Romance, it was a bit slow and but it was obvious that both the MCs were attracted to eachother. The romance part did happen about 70% of the story. It was kinda ok, like it wasn’t very swoony for me unlike Kasie West’s older books. But it was good and I’m more invested in the female MC’s character development in the story.

All in All, I really liked this book, it was very different from Kasie West’s older books. It was a fun and good read, it also has a great message towards the readers. So I highly recommend this book!

"In that moment, I had the sense that he could break my heart in two if I let him. More than anyone had in the past. But I also knew, as he pulled me close again, that I was willing to take that risk."

Kasie west has done it yet again! Honestly it really shouldn't come as a surprise, given how much I adore her contemporary romances, that I enjoyed this book as much as I did. The timing for it couldn't have been more perfect either. I've been going through a lot of difficult, and stressful things lately (who hasn't though), even more so in the past few days, and this book felt like the ultimate stress relieving life saver. Everything is so summery, fun, and romantic! What more could you wish for from this genre? I thought the characters were really enjoyable, and their relationships felt authentic, and were really well done. Especially the romance between Avery and Brooks, which left me smiling from ear to ear like a little kid; their chemistry was seriously good, and that became even more apparent to me after the few duds I've read more recently. I 100% recommend this fluffy book to literally everyone, trust me, it's worth the read.
