Kasie West is my go to but this one seemed off the moment of truth was really good but this one had a weird tone like miss kasie was like trying to be dirty. i just got bored and didn’t want to read anymore i wanted an audiobook yet i have only read like 10 chapters so but yeah the way the dude was mad did not make any sense but i think i will try to reread next year with audiobook
I sat down on the couch to read this one and did not look up until hours later when I finished it. Oops! I adored this sweet story. The camp setting, the friendships, the growth, the sister-relationship, the music, the ROMANCE! I love Kasie west’s books so much and this was no exception.
HIT HOME.
This made me want to relive some of my high school years and figure out some aspects of my life. I love how this was approached. Watching Avery find her passion and owning her truths to her family and friends really resonated. I have been deeply reminded why I love Kasie West’s books and the way she’s able to captivate and fill my cup.
Avery was a great teenage main character. Not over the top dramatic, but honest in her faults, and struggling to remember her strengths. I loved her character progression and how she took a chance on her summer to try new things.
Add in a sweet romance with Brooks and I was smitten. Teen, summer love! Oh how cute. I liked their relationship a lot too. From being honest with one another, and learning (and admitting) about communications issues felt true. This whole book was a warm summer hug.
I read it in a day and it was super cute and relatable to my soul.

Sunkissed is a great summer read, it takes place at a summer camp. The main character, Avery who gets betrayed by her best friend, and her family spend the summer at camp where cell phone service is hard to come by. Avery loves to sing and finds friends with the band that plays at the camp and even develops a relationship with one of the guys, Brooks. I loved how relatable the characters are, and that the aspect of spending time with family is heavily featured. This was such a fun, perfect summer read.

Like all other Kasie West books, Sunkissed was a dream. The story had a cozy vibe through and through. I love how Kasie’s novels always put me in a good mood. :’) I finished reading it in like 4-hours-ish? I had no trouble connecting to the characters, and was invested in the storyline from the very beginning. If you’re looking for a breezy, summer-y read, I highly recommend picking up Sunkissed!
Avery, the main character, was so relatable! She had the tendency to put on a people-pleasing attitude, just to make sure that the other person stayed happy. (I do that a lot too. I’m working on changing it, I promise) I loved seeing her grow throughout the book. It was very inspiring. YA novels kind of focus on the romance aspect to a greater degree~ which is why character development gets lost sometimes, but that has never been the case for Kasie West’s novels! I’m so glad her signature charm and swoon-worthy elements were present in Sunkissed. YAAY
The romance was sweet and made me smile countless times throughout the story! Brooks was a the perfect addition to the book ~ I loved how he bought out a different side of Avery! The music theme was very well-written too. Sunkissed is definitely a YA you should pick up soon. Highly recommend.

This was just… not interesting in the slightest. All the characters felt super shallow and one-dimensional, I didn’t care if they achieved their goals or not, and there was really no good plot to this. The romance also felt super forced?? Not worth it
