Perfect book to kick off my summer reading with! As always, Kasie West did not disappoint in the summer romance department. This was a rollercoaster from no WiFi to band auditions, and I loved it! Truly my current favorite of her books.

Kasie West stands on a perpetual 3.5 stars for me. I always like her books, they are always cute and I read them to relax and give my head a break, I'm willing to check out each and every book of her. But I will readily admit that there isn't that much more to them than that. They definitely serve their purpose, but they are too superficial to do much more for me.

I really liked Avery and Brooks, as I like pretty much all the protagonists of West's books. I liked Lauren, I liked seeing how Avery made new friends and dealt with old ones. I liked that people explored themselves, I liked the tensions and reliefs. Everything was completely serviceable. However, this is (once more) a case of West's books where I didn't feel particularly attached to anything. For a short time I thought I would actually get sucked into the romance but that didn't happen (there are only two books by West that have properly managed to do this to me and they're by far my favorites) and, frankly, I'm not even mad about it. It's just as I had predicted.

This one is definitely a good summer read and very appropriately themed at that. But don't expect your world to be rocked by this book? Still, I'd recommend it as I recommend all Kasie West books: to those who want cute and fluffy and softly funny.

I love a good camp love story! Brooks and Avery were easy to root for.
