This was a quick and easy read, although not my favorite Greek mythology inspired novel. I liked the focus on female perspective, and it was interesting seeing the missing viewpoint in the original stories. However, it just wasn’t that exciting to read. I think that it’s just my own perspective and not the fault of the book however.

I think that everyone who has read Song of Achilles should read this book too, because it just gives a whole other vibe of the events, and actually portrays the Greeks as more of the bad guys. It was very well written and also very emotional at time. The one thing that I didn’t like was that there was a bit of extremely unnecessary fatphobia in this book. It had nothing to do with anything and felt like the author just included for no reason.
Read from the Provo library.

I wanted less Achillies more Briesis/women…. since it’s called silence of the GIRLS but that’s just me. Still was interesting I just wanted less men but obviously with war men always gonna be there.

Silence of the Girls had the potential to be an enlightening, if depressing, view of the Trojan War from the perspective of women in the Greek camps. Instead, it's overwritten version of the myth we already know. A few chapters from Briseis' perspective (that truly had potential to be engaging on their own, hence the 1 star) and some ham-handed emotional dialogue between Achilles and Patroclus do not make this a more "real" Troy story.
