Better than the first of these novels and I really enjoyed the addition of new characters in this book. I hope to learn more about them throughout the series. The only real issue I found with this book was the romance that was included, but looking past this the plot was good and it was a quick, intriguing read!

The second part of this series was slower than the first one but I really liked Eve Duncan's character being developed more and more. You can really sense Eve struggling with this case and how personally was she affected.
I missed some more development from the killer character Dom.
Very quick read and enjoyed it very much.

I loved this book...I just couldn't put it down. I would sit down and read and be totally lost in time! Finished this bad boy in 1 day!

This is book 2 in the Eve Duncan series. This time the killer was a lot more personal. This book dealt a lot with Eve and her past and of course Bonnie, whereas the first book [b:The Face of Deception|272264|The Face of Deception (Eve Duncan Forensics Thrillers, #1)|Iris Johansen|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1314902854s/272264.jpg|745050] was sort of an introduction to the characters.
The Killing Game picks up about a year after the first book. Eve has been with Logan on his island all this time, but the discovery of a little girl's skeleton sends Joe to retrieve her and bring her back to her work. Right away Eve believes the skeleton could be Bonnie's (as she does with most every unidentified girl skeleton), and maybe this time her suspicions are true? The killer definitely wants her to believe he's the one who killed Bonnie all those years ago.
This was more of a mystery book instead of a crime thriller. While we get the killer's POV in certain scenes we still have to figure out who it actually is which lead me through many twists and turns and misdirections.
We finally get some progress on Joe and Eve's relationship which was very blatant from the beginning. I just didn't know how long it would take Johansen to bring it up in the series. I'm glad she didn't wait too long.
I thought this was a much stronger book than the first one, the only thing that I would complain about is Eve's actions. Sometimes I just felt like she was being too stubborn thinking that she, by herself, could solve / handle a murderer. Just because I killer tells you to do something doesn't always mean that you should. There were just times that the decisions that she made were a little rash. But overall I do find her a strong character who's been through a lot in her life and it seems like she will finally start living again.
The addition of Jane in the book (an I assume upcoming books as well) was good. I liked Jane's character. There was just enough toughness and vulnerability mixed together to make her seem real. She wasn't favored too much one way or the other.
I think this will be a series that I continue reading. From what I understand the next book in the series [b:The Search|94299|The Search (Eve Duncan Forensic Thrillers, #3)|Iris Johansen|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1266470849s/94299.jpg|1407950] deals with Sarah and Monty and Logan, with Eve and Quinn being the background. I don't know how that will work out, but I did like Sarah's character and her interactions with Monty and I would like to see what is next for Logan after events in this book. Until Then!

Surprisingly, I really didn’t care for this. This is the first book in the Eve Duncan series I’ve read, but I don’t think missing that first book is why I didn’t like it. I just didn’t relate to Eve, and maybe my brain kept wanting her to be Eve Dallas. All of her relationships with other people seemed awkward. I also expected the forensic sculpting to be a larger part of the story. I won’t bother with the rest of this series.
