Strong writing and fast-paced plot! A gem of 2025 so far.

Thank you to the authors for the eARC.

I got hooked on White Rose Painted Red pretty quickly.

At first, I thought Aurora was gonna be one of those FMCs that doesn’t question anything and just goes with the flow. The kind that just lets things happen to them. I mean, girly doesn’t question a $15,000/month salary for a cleaning job with an NDA? I guess if I was super desperate, I’d ignore the red flags too. But thankfully, her character gets super fleshed out and she became one of my favorites.

Although she can’t beat Seven. What a crazy golden retriever of a man. Just on the wrong side of insane, but the good side of loyal and adorable.

The plot was wild and crazy and I couldn’t stop reading. I had to know what was gonna happen! Throw in the chemistry and steam and this was the perfect example of the dark why choose genre. Like get me a glass of water please, I need it.

The cliffhanger and issue at the end broke me and I need more. Please and thank you 🙏

The White Rose Painted Red audiobook? I’m straight-up obsessed.
I already loved the dark, emotional, twisty AF storyline… but hearing it come to life? Next. Level!

Lessa Lamb absolutely embodied Aurora. Her delivery was raw, vulnerable, and fierce in all the right places—there were moments I genuinely choked up. And the guys? Grayson Owens (Seven), Sean Masters (Atticus), and Devon Ryder (Elijah) delivered standout performances. Each voice was distinct, every emotion landed, and the chemistry between the cast was unreal. The duet, full-cast narration made the tension hit even harder, especially during the 𝘰𝘩, 𝘴𝘩*𝘵 scenes.

This audiobook didn’t have sound effects or music, but honestly, none were needed.

The pacing was tight, the character work on point, and I never once got pulled out of the story. If anything, I fell deeper. Whether you’re here for the spice, the obsession, the betrayal, or the revenge... this audiobook hits. And that ending? Wrecked me. Again. I'm dying for book two.

If you love morally gray characters, found-family chaos, and narrators who own their roles, this one’s without a doubt a drop everything and listen.

I went into White Rose Painted Red with zero knowledge of these authors or what to expect. This was a wild ride! This story is a dark and steamy romance with action, trauma, found family, and lots of delicious tension. The story is told from four points of view: Aurora, Seven, Elijah, and Atticus. It all begins with Aurora being on the run. While driving, she ends up hitting a man who was standing in the road. Turns out the guy is Seven, and although he walks away unharmed, his friends (Elijah and Atticus) are not so forgiving. Instead of getting the police involved, Aurora makes a deal to work for them. They will give her a place to stay and pay her well, in exchange for her serving as their maid. What she doesn't know is that there is much more going on with these guys, and things are about to get very interesting for her, real fast.

I am a sucker for morally grey men, and Seven, Elijah, and Atticus gave me all the grey I wanted and more. Seven is unhinged, but he is also quite charming. I easily fell for him. Elijah also has my heart. He is damaged and soft-spoken, but has a presence that demands attention. Atticus has a very hard exterior and is ex-military. I'm still upset with him, so he'll have to work hard to earn my love. They all had very different relationships with Aurora. Seven, Elijah, Atticus, and Aurora's story had me locked in. The danger, revenge plan, and secrets had me on the edge of my seat. Their story ends with a cliffhanger, and I am excited to see what happens next. Aurora is on a journey to take back her life, so these men better be ready.

Narration:
The audiobook is performed by Lessa Lamb, Grayson Owens, Sean Masters, and Devon Ryder. These amazing voice actors did a wonderful job with this story. Everyone fully embodied the characters and brought them to life. Their performances easily transported me into the world created by the authors, and I didn't want to leave.

This book though. I could not even formulate words for weeks after I read it to be able to write this review. That's how good it was. I'm still struggling to write the feelings I had regarding this book. This book pulled me in from page one and captivated me from the descriptive words on the page regading the atmosphere to the characters. And when you finally get to parts you were waiting for (I'm talking the fridge scene, iykyk), holy smokes. It's delish (HA! See what I did there?!)

This book is darker with graphic on scene stuff, spicy, twisty, aggressive, BUT DANG OH SO GOOD!! Oh and there's a cliffhanger. :)

Holy moly, the audiobook was fantastic. There is just something about a full cast narration that makes the book so much better. I loved this book. I found myself wishing I was Aurora and stuck with these three guys lol. All of them are different and likable in their own way. And they also tend to spark other emotions in you, too.
The spice was hot. And the narration made it even hotter. You guys need to check out this audiobook ASAP. And if you can't get your hands on the audiobook for some reason, the story itself is so good! (Just make sure you check the trigger warnings.) I'm salivating for book 2!
Thank you to Blake and Elena Lawson for the ALC of the audiobook! (This review is being left voluntarily and all opinions are my own.)
