This was my second Margaret Atwood book. I definitely enjoyed it. Zenia is an evil force of a woman who manages to wreck havoc on three of her friends' lives. And we learn why in all the character development. I enjoyed Atwood's writing style and was glad I read this one. There were times though where I felt I was lumbering along trying to move the book a bit quicker, but overall, a good read.
Interesting plot, but then became extremely repetitive. Then plain boring for another 400 pages. But then, right at the end…it became near impossible to finish.

Brilliant. One for the head, the heart and the gut.
Love Margaret Atwood, but didn't care for any of the pushover women or loser men in this story :(
I love Margaret Atwood - this covers how three women were brought together by the betrayal of another woman who seems to exist JUST to cause strife and turmoil. It's not my favorite of hers, but it's a solid read and captured me immediately - like every Atwood, that is!
This was a great story, though frustrating when you could see the characters falling into Zenia's traps and lies again and again. I enjoyed the group of unlikely friends and seeing the story of how they all grew up to be the way they are.
