This was a fun read. I wish for the end with Rochester, though, that the author had gone a different direction. I thought when Jane was being standoffish maybe they were hinting at a plot more like The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, where maybe having children together strained the Jane-Rochester relationship. I think it would've been a cool nod to Anne Bronte if it went that way. But, alas, I feel this ending was more on the sensational side. I have no particular love for Rochester - I've always found it baffling being in lit classes where people romanticize him (or worse, romanticize Wuthering Heights) so it was, at least, an interesting take on his attitude towards women.

Really drew me in. The ending was surprising but at the same time expected and well built. Relatable, a little bit too much modern language for the time
