I will admit, the main I love this book more is because of Alex. I'm genderfluid, so that representation means the world to me. But it's also just a fun read.

I really enjoyed how Rick incorporated transgender people into this.

Great sequel to sword of summer, loved the characters especially new characters like Alex. I loved the action of this book and how the mystery was revealed.

4.5. This one’s a little weaker, Norse gods don’t have the same presence. but the last 10 got me hyped up again

I love the original Percy Jackson books so much. Seriously they are the best. And I really enjoyed the Heroes of Olympus as well. But with Rick Riordan's other series, I find myself looking forward to those original characters almost more than the main ones in the book. The worst for this is Trials of Apollo, where my favorite chapters feature Percy, and the best part was when Leo showed up. This book is not exactly like that. I enjoy quite a bit about the mythology (Hearth is the best, and all of the elf stuff is messed up but great), and I love Samirah and her super religious take on the gods. Still, I was way excited to hear about Annabeth and get a tease for other stuff from that world, which makes me feel a little weary. I kinda wish that Rick Riordan would find another schtick. I am enjoying this series, but I'm not invested in it like those early books. I hope that when he finishes the two series he's got going on right now, Riordan does something completely different.

FUCK this series is so GOOD
