This was so good. I had to listen to it slowly as it's not always the happiest read and dealt with family issues, and I have my own family issues I don't want to deal with/face. But wow. What a book.
Also, I really like poetry when it's read to me, and I don't read it to myself.

Densely packed with '60s/'70s/'80s references that might be alien to today's teens.

i really wanted to because i love memoirs and wanted to hear more about life on native american reservations!! but i really did not like the poetry vibe and structure was really hard for me to read :(

Such a powerful book. There is just so much to it--so many layers and levels and meanings. I already know I'm going to re-read this one. Highly recommend!

An incredibly complex memoir of life as a Native American. An eye-opening read.
