What an incredible book. The setting is not my favorite as far as fantasy goes, but very engaging with amazing characters. The author definitely doesn’t spoon feed you information in terms of world-building, and a lot of things you have to piece together yourself or don’t get at all until later in the book.
There were some very serious themes regarding systematic and internalized oppression and motherhood that were explored in a very thoughtful way, and I think I’ll need some more time to digest it. There were definitely some dark themes here too and a few scenes that I still can’t get out of my head. Looking forward to the rest of the trilogy!

What??? I hoped I would love this book and needless to say it exceeded my expectations. There are so many twists and connections I didnt see coming - in fact I couldn't predict anything (not even the next line) which is crazy. This book is a mystery unfolding before you with such amazing worldbuilding many other worlds look like playing with sand instead of stone in comparison. I couldn't stop reading and I especially cant now so lets finish this so I can start on the second part that is probably going to blow my brain even more.
