Thank you so much to Netgalley for providing me an e-arc copy in exchange for an honest review! I found John Marrs books last year and really enjoyed the couple I have read so when I saw this available I of course requested it. This book did not disappoint. With society being the way it is currently and all of the talk of AI it is not hard to imagine that this could become a reality. And the thought of that is terrifying not to mention the book allowing discussions to be opened about what could happen. The book was extremely well presented and I enjoyed the varied cast of characters.

I loved loved loved this book and would 1000% recommend others to read it!

What a wild ride that was. I have never read any of John Marra other novels, and I came into this ARC absolutely blind. I'm so glad I did because this book was GRIPPING.

The entire synopsis drew me in. An experiment with tamagochi like children in the metaverse. The millennial in me was super curious. Plus, plot twist it's a GAME SHOW!

I was in shock by how closely John paints a picture of today's society only just a little further along into technology. Everything that happened seemed like something that could happen in the near future, which added to the creepy factor of this book.

I really don't know how else to put this, but you must read this book. Fans that like mysteries, games shows, DRAMA, and a little bit of reality, and some sci-fi elements will love this book. It took me by suprise.

This was so addicting. Scary to think this could come true. Anyways this was just as good as The One by the same author. Couldn’t put it down.

I’m speechless, this was such a dark, fast paced and addictive read!

This near future thrilling read addresses the potential of the metaverse, through a family experiment whereby individuals sign up to a show where they get a virtual child, and are watched by millions of viewers . It’s very close to home in terms of the potential of the future metaverse, aswell as topics surrounding moral and ethical behaviours. Interesting and exciting from start to finish!

WHAT A READ!

I enjoyed this book. It was fun. The twists were great. Fantastic read. Very black mirror.
