Obviously from the time frame in which I read this book, it is not terrible hard to read. It is;however, a great follow-up to book one of the series and I can't wait to read it to my sister because I know she'll love it. Like Shannon Hale's other books, amazing.

I am really enjoying reading Ever After High. Even as an adult, I am curious where the story is going to go and what all will happen to the characters. EAH is making it very hard to not like the character, even the supposed villains in the story. I like the show as well but I wish the books will hurry up and let me know what is going to happen.

I LOVE THIS BOOK.
I am so full of feels atm! Good godmother.

Hale is good. She is very. very. good.

I don't even know where to start with this. Some of the best advice comes out of the mouth of the most evil woman known to Ever After, and the main character is able to pull truth out of it. As a reader, you end up right there with Raven, sifting through the crap and realizing that doing the right thing still means hurting people you love, sometimes. And, like Apple says, it's okay to choose to follow the path set out, but other people are making choices too, so where does that leave us?
It's amazing. This book is incredibly popular with my reluctant readers, and it's dealing with some very complex issues.
It would be a fantastic book to discuss a lot of real-life issues with kids. Like Cerise's mixed parentage and her spending her entire life in a cape to hide who and what she is. And she's tired of the secrets and she just wants who she is to be okay! There are so many gems in this book, so many cool characters, and so many opportunities.

And it's SO FUN.

Seriously, if you've read a School for Good and Evil, you should be reading these ones. They're so much better. These ones are consistent in their message, they're a MUCH better representation of girls/women, they embrace grey areas as being grey (and must be worked through as such), and they're so sweet.
If you're not reading these...

Here are some closing thoughts from Ms. Hale:

"If you ever have your chance to change the world, don't hesitate."
and
"Everything doesn't have to be perfect right now. For the moment, trying is enough."

These books look cute, yes. They're adorable. The covers are pretty and marketable and they come with matching dolls - and you know what? I don't care that these dolls look like Bratz dolls anymore.

Why? Because the books have amazing, important messages that I love. First, Apple and Raven don't agree - Raven believes in freedom of choice and Apple wants nothing so much as she wants to fulfill her destiny and they fight and they argue and Apple doesn't know how to see Raven's side and Raven is struggling with all the arguments but do you know what? They are still friends. They still care about each other and their school and they want to close the rift between people even if they don't know how to do that yet. They're willing to fight without hating each other. And I love that. It seems to me that every time two girls are on the opposite side of an argument or belief they have to hate each other and tear each other down in outright or (perhaps even worse) passive aggressive ways and I despise it. These books don't do that. You might think you're going to hate Apple or hate Raven but the book really doesn't allow you to do either, even if you disagree with one or both of them at any given point.

When their friend ends up in trouble, they have to set aside all their disagreements and bring everyone on both sides together to help make it right. Apple learns to draw on the strength of others and Raven learns that she has strength she didn't know she had. They're both clever and smart and they love their friends fiercely.

This story shows time and again, a girl saving her own day and being the hero for the damsel in distress by being a strong leader and a good friend. It's beautiful.

It shows so much about how people can do the wrong thing when trying to do something good for the right reasons. Further it shows how sometimes doing the right thing for you is important even when other people will call it selfish. It shows how evil is selfish, but selfish isn't always evil. It's important to stand up for yourself and your friends, but that doesn't mean you have to stomp on other people in the process.

I just hope that people can look past the cute, pretty trappings and the little cutesy jokes to the heart of these books.

I honestly love this series for a few reasons, but the most outstanding of those is that this is a middle grade series whose lead characters are supposed to be arch-enemies, but instead these girls completely support each other.

They argue, they have very different opinions on the situation at hand, but never do they go behind each others backs. They work together to make sure they get through their challenges.

There is never any girls hating girls in this series and I'm so glad I'm reading these books so I can recommend them to all the young girls who walk into the bookstore I work at.

I applaud Hale for putting together these books in such an hilarious and inspiring way.

The kids and I listened to this audio on the way to the Jersey Shore on the weekends, so it took some time to finish it but we absolutely loved it so much. Kathleen McInerney is a fantastic Narrator, she has so many awesome voices and you can always tell which person is talking. She is so fun.

After screwing up Legacy day Raven and Apple are feeling the backlash. Raven is so confused but doesn't want to change her mind and Apple is completely losing her mind trying to find ways to fix everyone story.

The books gives you a few new characters but all the ones you love are back again. Especially Maddy (the Mad Hatters Daughter) My daughter and I just love her and when she "talks" to the Narrator it always makes a laugh. This time Maddy may be in a little trouble and it totally has us so worried about her.

I adore this story so much and my daughter and I want to listen to the next one ASAP. I can't recommend this series enough. Shannon Hale writes an amazing story and Kathleen McInerney just makes it come alive.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my review.

Have a great day and Happy Reading!
