Move up to 3.5. Audiobook.  I wanted so so very badly to like this book.  I don't know if it was because of the audio... the complicated naming system..the language.. what.. but most of the time I didn't know what the hell was going on.  I'm an experienced sci-fi/ fantasy reader and most of the times like to be dropped into the middle of a story but for some reason I floundered.  I loved Gideon's dialog.  I felt like a had tenuous grasp on what was going on but then I'd lose it again.  I was open to trying again with the second book but even reading an excerpt I felt like.."WTF is happening..." sigh.
