If you don’t like books with stupid endings. Don’t read this one.

I literally HATED this book. I feel so angry at it. Ive really enjoyed other Jimenez books, so I’m so so disappointed with this one. First of all, the main character (Kristen) is an asshole. She sucks. The entire book. She’s screwed up in her perception of herself bc her mom was emotionally abusive, but then DONT WORRY, after we hear for 300 pages about her mom absolutely sucking, she suddenly turns nice in the epilogue — isn’t that convenient? The whole book is basically a miscommunication trope. The male lead (Josh) spends the entire novel trying to convince the female lead (Kristen) that he really does love her and she literally just won’t listen to him. It’s infuriating. Eventually I guess the author needed another conflict and decided to KILL OFF one of our supporting characters. Like a HUGE character. What the actual fuck? It was so pointless too, it didn’t drive our plot A at all — it was simply a tragic plot b for quite literally no reason. We don’t even get to see that character who died (Brandon)’s fiance (Sloan) like grow and get over it and be okay. So it wasn’t even a full progression of a plot b?!? It literally was just thrown in there to be sad. It pissed me off so much. I’m seething. Also,  he didn’t even die right away?? He was in a terrible motorcycle accident, we watch him get better & better, and then he just fucking does right before he’s supposed to come out of his coma? Like why make us think that this tragic accident was gonna work out? Such an unnecessary level of audience torture. I am so angry.

Well, truly it’s because the love story was a mess to begin with. So when the
devastating plot twist happens, I just couldn’t.
The reason I picked up this book was because of the topic of infertility. As someone who struggles with infertility it was intriguing to read a romcom that explored the realities of that very prevalent but not talked about issues for a lot of couples.
Only to find out that there is a surprise pregnancy… gurrrllllll I just can’t. I am so glad I didn’t read it first hand.
Plus the book it pushes the NLOG BS. Just overall couldn’t bring myself to finish it.

It was the worst book I have ever read. At the first I hated how the MFC was acting like a "cool girl/I'm not like other girls". Then the miscommunication trope got involved and I hated it even worst. For someone who claimed to be logical this miscommunication ruined it like 2/3 of the book. I hated what happened to the secondary characters, I didn't see the point of it.
