I really enjoyed this, even with disliking many of the characters for most of the book. I find her writing really good, and Julia Whelan's narration was great as always.

I listened to the audiobook and it was great. Fast and fun read, which was really needed after the last book I read.

hmm--People who know me know that I love fiction and good story telling, and a well-crafted family drama is usually right up my alley. But...I just find myself asking at the end of this (which I really did enjoy reading!) what the.....point was? Like, was there a message about reproductive technology? Unclear. Was there a message about modern education? conservatism? identity? mental health? Unclear. Maybe it was just a well-written story, but it just touched on so many issues without quite landing anywhere in a way I found...perplexing.

This book was definitely not for me. While the writing was skillful it was not the type of story I enjoy. The build up is very slow and tedious and the story pay off for me just was not there. It was an interesting premise but it was way more drawn out than I prefer.
