Loved listening to Heather share her story! She really is that IT girl of RHOSLC! Cant wait to read book number 2 !

I wanted tea. All the tea, but instead I got some insight into Mormon rituals and teachings but not much else. I thought it was a very inoffensive book, interesting but inoffensive.

An interesting look into a Real Housewive's life before she became famous! I liked learning about the Mormon temple rituals and Heather's eventual journey away from that.

It was ok, but 2 stars seems so harsh, and I do LOVE RHOSLC. Overall, I think Heather is a smart woman, but I think she had some interesting circumstances happen. It was nice to hear her talk about her life and what made her who she is and how she operates.

I found this to be an interesting Memoir however I think that anyone reading this who is a fan of the Real Housewives should would've been disappointed. She didn't really talk that much about the show, the casting process, or any of that drama. I haven't watched the show so it didn't matter to me either way but just something I found interesting.

I think that she shared some good stories about growing up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (and does have a caveat at the beginning of the book about the name vs. Mormon which I thought was a nice touch). I think she does a good job at clarifying that while her experiences aren't representative of the entire church there are patterns and repetitive issues with some of the activities or lessons in the church culture. The biggest part that I had an issue with was her description of the temple ceremonies. I understand that she felt wronged by the church in this manner but I didn't think she needed to go into the depth that she did to describe all these things that people consider to be sacred. She could've given a much more brief overview and still made her point. If people want an in depth explanation of the temple ceremonies there are plenty of sources that provide more context and give a better, more respectful explanation of what happens. Throwing in all the detail on the temple ceremonies seemed like a low blow to me honestly.

Overall I related to many of her thoughts about the church or growing up in the church (besides being a ruler breaker because that wasn't me haha) but I always appreciate hearing about similar experiences in different places.
