I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed other Catharina Maura's books. It's just that coming from reading fantasy books and then going back to contemporary romance, I didn't expect that it would lead me to a different kind of perspective. I still enjoy this book, but it feels lacking in a way I really can't identify.

The narrative was good, and the flow was just as usual with how Catharina writes her plots, but the main conflict of the story was not as strong compared to her other books.

It feels a bit forced like I love all the characters, even Tyra, which is not how it's supposed to be. It feels like there has to be some antagonist for you to relate to the protagonist, and there was none in this book. Even Theo, I really cannot hate him as a character in this book because he was so understanding and lovable as a person.

As for the characters, I just felt like there is a bit of a disconnect in how the author wants to portray Archer because it says in the beginning of the story that he's not living his life after Tyra went missing, but even in the first chapter of the book, the person they were talking about was never present. When I look back from Zane nd Celeste's book, he was not even remotely grumpy; he was just so brotherly that you wouldn't think there was a problem with him. Then, as we go along in the story, he was just a cinnamon roll. So for me, there was a bit of a disconnect in how his character was portrayed in this book.

Well I love Serenity and everything that she embodies. She is her own person, and I love her for it. She's very grounded with her morals and principles as a person, and I enjoyed them being together.

The plot I would say is very predictable. I knew for a fact that everything was too good to be true and that I knew there would be a point when Tyra would come back, but I'm not so sure what happened to her. Then it was revealed, so it was a bit anticlimactic, but still, it played a huge role in the plot when she came back.

I love that every side character was a good Ezra, Tyra, and Theo. They were all lovable characters, but still going back, I have to say that for me to be riveted or interested in a story, there still has to be some antagonists to the story. But this book is still a good read for me, though.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book, and I just read it overnight, but I think the Windsors really have a special place in my heart.

A little story time, this actually wasn’t a book on my TBR. Per usual I took a Barnes trip with my bestie and I stumbled upon this book because the cover was gorgeous
