Gostei do casal e da sua história.
Aborrecer-me um pouco a trope "virgem aos 22 que vira bomba sexual" mas neste caso essa uma das premissas da história...

i love catharina maura but if the next book she writes is similar to this i’m out.
this book felt like she grabbed the best parts of her previous books and tried to create what she thought would be her best book ever. she was so focused on the tropes she listed the book became tasteless and corny. i did notice this trend of hers towards the second half of the windsor series but i ignored them because i adore the characters so much. but all the characters in this book are bland and simple-minded to a fault.
first three chapters were all about:
- serenity hurting because her friend kristine betrayed her for theo
- archer longing for tyra
- ezra also weirdly longing for his bff’s girlfriend (???)
then it randomly became:
- kristine-theo drama completely ignored
- archer having borderline incest feelings for serenity (because what do you mean you saw her as a little sister then wanting to fuck her the minute you saw her list??)
- ezra completely forgotten
- tyra also completely forgotten (which was weird because the initial focus was on her)
then it became:
- theo randomly realizing he loves serenity (which is also weird because more than 3/4 of the book he was still giving love-eyes to kristine)
- ezra’s supposed protectiveness is literally non-existent
- archer-serenity completely smitten porn
- tyra still non-existent
then the last quarter of the book was:
- theo pursuing then not pursuing serenity
- tyra showing up then they weirdly did not bring her in a medical facility especially when she’s abused
- archer totally forgetting about serenity and conflicted but also like not?? i cannot describe how corny and weird his pov’s are
- serenity feeling guilty for fucking archer (like hello? you should have felt guilty the moment you wrote his name on your fuck list??)
- a random hinting (or blatant foreshadowing) of ezra and tyra’s future book
everything’s so inconsistent because maura focused so much on the tropes! in an effort to make this more consistent:
- tyra should never had a relationship with serenity at all. she should have been someone who serenity unconsciously envy to make the brother’s best friend trope work.
- there should not have been hints on ezra-tyra relationship because pinning after your bff’s lost gf is just friendship-ending. seriously.
- tyra coming back should have been placed in earlier chapters and archer should have struggled to make a decision (or not because ew?)
- archer should not have been close with serenity because if you see her as a little sister, it should stay there.
- also for him to say that tyra’s disappearance is what brought him and serenity together was just weird. like dude you are practically childhood friends with serenity! and tyra’s disappearance as a reason for love was tasteless
overall, i think catharina maura is riding the success of windsor series but this spinoff started as a disaster.

This was my first book I’ve read from this author and oh my goodness I can’t believe how easy it was to read and fast I got through this. I hadn’t read about a billionaire and an artist and the ANGST was SO good. I can’t wait to read about the Windsor siblings.

4.75 stars Oh my goodness Serenity and Archer are amazing! The fact that Serenity is patient but always put other before herself. Archer still long for his lost lover. Honestly my heart went on a roller coaster with all the emotions. The back in forth with them both having insecurities and always hiding something from each other. Part of this book had me bawling other parts had me smile. This book all in all was the best read I’ve had. Got me out of a reading slump.
