I remember when I was reading The Broken Vows, and being curious about both Archer and Serenity from the short introduction we were given to them together (obviously, we had more of Archer, and he caught my interest straight away). Now that I've had a chance to read this truly captivating romance, I can say that I adored their story even more than I thought I would.
Serenity, a talented artist who's interning at her older brother's company, had various plans which involved moving in with her best friend who she'd had feelings for. Except she found herself instead living with her older brother as her best friend moved in with his new girlfriend. Archer is Ezra's (the older brother) best friend and business partner, he's known Serenity for a number of years, and after seeing something he shouldn't, he and Serenity strike a deal for a no strings fling.
Seeing their story develop, and the emotions between them grow was so beautiful to read, even when confronted by something neither was really expecting. The healing which took place, even after the heartbreak, kept me riveted as I sped towards the end.
4.5/5 - would most definitely recommend!

This book was the perfect amount of angst and emotion. I was worried going in because I wasn’t sure that Archer was going to be all in with Serenity because of Tyra, but he truly proved me wrong. That man was in love with her from their first interaction of page. Even when Tyra came back , he never lost sight of his feelings for Serenity. Yes he handled things in such a heartbreaking way, but he was drowning in guilt the entire time. I wished we could’ve seen more of them after they got back together though.
