I've been reading a number of Doctor Who novels and short stories lately, and all in all I really enjoyed them. This Time Trip short story features the Second Doctor and his companions and I have to admit that I didn't know anything about them.

So it's not possible for me to review the portrayal given in this short story. However, the story I found very interesting and I liked it a lot. It's set in Ancient Alexandria and features the Muses, thus teaching some of the old Greek mythology.

My only problem with it was that it was too short. I would have loved to read this as a longer story, perhaps a full novel.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

This story features Doctor #2, along with Jamie and Zoe, but there is also a passing reference to a more recent Doctor (fez) and I felt like the author winked at me, it was fun.

It's a very short story, so I'll make this a short review. I really could imagine watching this as an episode, but given the number of pages, it would rather be the summary of an episode. There are adventure, humor, aliens, robots, myths, everything any Whovian is familiar with. There was enough matter for the making of a good episode or a longer story, so it was a quick, fun read but left me with a taste of too little.

Another lovely short story which is part of the Doctor Who 'Time Trips' collection. The Second Doctor takes a trip with Zoe and Jamie to the Museaum of Alexandria. But everything isn't quite as it seems....

With Muses, Hero, recorders, hippopotamuses and a bit of mythology Doctor Who style, you can't go wrong. It's a very short story and as a result it's quite pacey so keeps you hooked throughout. It's also quite funny, at times even the Doctor is on the floor laughing.

Definitely a fun story, but one that could have been longer as there's so much content. However, keeping it short meant it was great for reading quickly and enjoying.

A fantastically fun Second Doctor story with a nice historical setting and great characterisation. Definitely one of the better of the 'Time Trips' collection and an enjoyable addition.
