I love the classics.

While yes there are plenty of stereotypes found throughout this book. It must be remembered of the time period this was written in. I listened to the audio version narrated by Jim Dale and he does a fantastic job of the narration. He kept the book going during the slower parts, but it sure does pick up midway through. A good one to listen to as a family where you can be sure to discuss how things are different from then to now. Plus it was nice to listen to a story completely untouched by our modern technology, going around the world in 80 with only steamships and trains was amazing. The twist at the end is perfect ending, a good one to listen too.

I love this book. It’s such a fun classic…somehow I don’t think we ever covered it when I was in school, which makes no sense to me, so we’ve covered it more than once in our homeschool. Only problem was, we read the book before we watched the movie, and honestly, there’s no movie version that comes close to the quality of the book. Why do movie versions feel like they have to change every detail???

I finally read this book after owning it since I was maybe a pre-teen. I even have the book in the Borders Classics edition.

Not a fan of Fogg.

A travel story with plenty of excitement and misadventures. It's not an easy journey to make for these characters at all!

A great read for feminist history buffs!

Dustin knew the twist at the end in advance, but I didn't so that was fun. I suspect Verne wrote this entire novel based on thinking of that twist while in the shower one day. :) My one complaint: there was no hot air balloon at all. Every cover of this book ever made has lied to me.
