This one was really good and I loved seeing more of Gojo's background.
I am a simple human, if Gege gives me Geto and Gojo I am going to like this.
I JUST LIKE THEM SO MUCH

The thing that I really appreciated about Jujutsu Kaisen, and this volume showcased very well, is that the author never belittles the ones born without supernatural powers trying to live in a supernatural world. If the baseline of normalcy (quote unquote) in a "magical" world is having a magical power, the characters that don't have a magical power can very easily be read as being functionally disabled. It's a very easy allegory that everyone reads into, and that's when the unconscious biases of the author towards disabled people, start to become conscious.
So what I really appreciate about Gege is that he doesn't treat his characters that don't have cursed energy like crap. They aren't presented as brutish ignorant savages that can't be civilised (see how JK Rowling treats the very concept of squibs in her magical world), or as possessing a noble personality but still largely deficient and needs to be fixed by gaining a magical power (hello My Hero Academia I cannot believe you pulled this shit twice). No, they are actual human beings. With a personality, motivations and character backstories and general competence, the quality that will guarantee you fans in a shonen series.
The people that don't have cursed energy aren't treated as deficient, they aren't broken, they don't need to be fixed. Yeah they need tools (weapons) to help them out when confronting cursed spirits, but when they are given those tools, they are as strong and intelligent as any of the other characters possessing cursed energy. They may be even stronger, with Maki setting the expectation and Toji raising the bar. It's fucking awesome to see.
(Also, I noticed that Gege writes his manga like a cinematographer. He writes them like a movie. What kind of mangaka does the "what are we going to do about this? character A asks. Rolls title card. Which answers the question" thing! What kind of madman does that!)
I just wished he would've lingered a bit more on emotional events. Really dig deep. Let the angst just sit there. He's running the manga too tight, and it's sometimes a bit jarring because he has enough emotional material to run at least 10k words on it.

Geto is the Joker for real. He hates society, he lives IN a society, he's gay, and... Okay yeah that's it that is the limit to how similar Geto and the Joker are. Honestly, I actually can find more reasons why Geto is Batman, two of them being "He's gay" and "He adopts children because of his mental illness and not because he actually wants to take care of children". Also "Black colored clothing", I guess? But that's just something all Jujutsu high students have in common with Batman, not just Geto. Batman Jujutsu student confirmed?
If Gojo's character development is amazing because of just how much he's changed for the better, you could say the exact opposite for Geto. His character development is amazing for how awfully worse he becomes at the end. It's actually amazing to watch because it also sounds like something so realistic. Imagine that your only actual encounter with weaker people then you is when they are the reason for almost all the pain you've suffered recently. It's such a useless feeling, especially when now Geto is also being left behind by Gojo, whether Gojo is aware of it or not.
It's just great to watch.
Oh yeah and also Robot guy and shit happens to him wow very cool.

Me before I first experienced this part of the Hidden Inventory arc: But why would Geto turn evil?
Me a couple dozen pages into this volume: Ah.
Sorry that I'm such a broken record, but once again, the anime fleshes out this arc more. Having experienced that version first, the manga original feels kind of choppy. Although the emotional beats do hit, it's like a song with missing notes.
