Thought I should explore a Dog Man book to get a sense. It is absolutely hilarious and I can see why it is so popular. Like lots of other things for kids, there are jokes in there for adults as well.

I forgot to say that I do love the name "Gassy Behemoth Studios" for a film company. In this book the "Cat Kid" which is referred to as a son but is really a clone, the "stupid" retail worker returns, which I don't get, because why is this a recurring character and when it first appeared, everyone on earth had had their books erased, so everyone was dumb. Now the retail worker is just fundamentally dumb. Is this a thing that would resonate with kids?

This book gets five stars just for introducing 'gravy pants' to the family canon.

(I don't think I've laughed harder at a book this year than at the spread dedicated to fart euphemisms)

What does it mean to be a family? What does it mean to be friends? What does it mean to be good? This latest installment explores these deep questions in typical Dog Man fashion: with a funny mix of fart jokes, action, adventure and heart. These graphic novels are really growing on me! I like the new notes from Harold and George in the back of the book that explain the classic literature references.
