A truly great edition to the School for Good and Evil Series (My favourite book series). The plot was intense and I was gripped, wondering what was going to happen next and how everything ends up to be how it is in the original SGE. Not only did the story show us how many of the traditions in the school came about but also there were subtle details and mirroring of scenes in the original SGE series. Even with my own predictions for what might happen, I am eager for the next book of this prequel series to come along.

I didn't expect the book to turn out like this And I didn't expect to read it in one day. It was a quick read. Rafael and Rhian's relationship give me folklore/evermore vibes😭

the part about my love was never enough for you broke my heart.

I liked it. I'm surely gonna read the second part ASAP.

This is a great prequel if you've read The School for Good and Evil books

THIS IS FANTASTIC!!! This book has pulled me out of a slump. It was fun, silly, adventurous, well written. I listened to the audiobook and Kit Young is an incredible narrator. I knew of this story because the film came out a while ago (didn’t watch it yet) but hadn’t read the books. I heard for the fan base many read this after book 1 because it came out after and people highly recommend that, so I’m going to try to do a reread after completing the series. If you like fantastical magical fairytale Disney type stories, this is perfect for you.

- Confusing that Rafal is the ‘good twin’ but he’s meant to be the ‘evil twin’ in the series?
- I thought this would include students like Arthur, Gwen, lance etc
- This was boring tbh I expected a lot more
- I see a lot of people shocked by the twist? What twist? We already KNOW Rafal kidnaps kids from Gavaldon!
- I already have the second book so I’ll read it but hope it is more interesting and has some links to the main series?..
- I gave this a 3 but could be a 2 too
