I LOVED reading this book. I LOVE fairytale retellings like this, and it was honestly just a very fun read. I FLEW through this book, I literally read it in two days because I just couldn't get enough of it. Auguste is a precious baby boy, I just want to wrap him up in my arms and give him the biggest hug. This book had me shipping the dad and the godmother together, too, before I remember, "NO, THIS IS CINDERELLA, HE'S GONNA DIE AND SHE'S GONNA BE SAD-" The PLOT TWISTS? I mean, MOST of them I didn't see coming. My ONLY criticisms are that maybe this book is TOO short, and I would've loved to see Louis maybe even become a love interest along with Auguste, I LOVE the enemies to lovers trope, but I only got a taste of it, and I would've loved to see more. More character development for Louis in general would have been nice, though I love that he admitted her into the competition to make it up to her. I loved his development, I just wish there was more of it.
