As with all of Erica's books, I'm hooked right away and there's always a twist to surprise me. I loved the whole story surrounding their past and her husband sounded like a good guy. I was shocked by who the killer was, the reason for it and what he did afterwards. The note she found was definitely a scary surprise, but also sweet in a way. I loved seeing Claire and Felicity again and how they were involved with things. The scene with her and the woman that had information was a favorite along with the scene about the grave.

Jemma knew who to call for help with not just the murder, but her heart too. I loved her and how she couldn't really lie and didn't really care what others thought. She did really care about her husband and had a special relationship with him. I didn't expect her to be a good fighter to when in trouble.

Gabriel has always loved her and it was no secret to most people. I loved that he understood her and her reasons for marrying her husband. He is one of those people that you want to be friends with no matter what.

I also love Lady X's little scandals she wrote because it added to it.

A romance that also involves solving a murder. This one was a very quick read and perfectly checked all the boxes. It was the perfect mixture of romance and solving a crime. Our hero, Gabriel
Sinclair, and heroine, Lady Jemma Forster, were meant to be together. But their friend, the Earl of Wolverston, marries Jemma. He finally makes them come together from beyond the grave in solving his murder.

It was bittersweet, and rather moving how Jemma finds out about Wolverston's knowledge about her affections for Gabriel. I loved the writing and the pace of this book. It was a perfectly quick read that one could finish in an evening.
