This was a solid historical romance. It took me a while to get into it because the beginning was fairly slow paced but it did eventually hook me. I loved the themes of women being able to make choices for themselves and consent. There was a lot of steam and at times I thought the word choice was weird but it was still overall enjoyable. The last like 25% is definitely the best part of the story

I received an advance copy from the publisher via Netgalley for review purposes. This in no way influences my review; all words, thoughts, and opinions are my own.
This is a really cute, fun historical romance! I adore the premise of a good girl wanting to explore the more sordid side of society and along the way discovering her own inner strength and power. I also loved the mutual pining between Celeste and Kieran and the development of their relationship as they grow closer. This is truly a delightful romance and I had a lot of fun reading it~

I really wanted to love this, but unfortunately I feel it's going to be pretty forgettable. Tropes were great, I appreciated the focus on consent, and the attempts at diversity, but this just really fell flat for me. Definitely don't go into this one expecting historical accuracy, which isn't an issue for me but for others to be aware. The high points for me were the spunkiness of the heroine, and the amount of times our poet hero says F**k.
