*Check trigger / content warnings before reading.*

I really liked this book and felt like I was experiencing the struggle and growth and self-acceptance along with Jonathan. It's a rough but beautiful journey.

I just didn't entirely like the writing style. All the 70's / hippy references and how the characters sometimes talked got on my nerves really quickly. The multiplewordsasonelongword and the onomatopoeia was way overdone and started to feel forced "for the vibes" instead of being an actual representation of the era.

I also disliked all the homophobic and racist language and actions, but understand it was needed to give an accurate representation of what Jonathan and Web would have gone through. Still don't have to like it, though.

Overall, I highly recommend as long as none of the content is triggering to you. Like I said, look up warnings before reading.

I have to start out by saying I NEED A SEQUEL PLEASE!!!!
Hello book gods, I really really want more of these beautiful boys please and thank you.

That being said I loved everything about this book. Both characters are so beautiful and I couldn’t get enough of them or their chemistry. The writing didn’t use the boring and overused “we have this connection I can’t explain” HE SHOWED IT that really made this book stand out to me. You felt their connection. I felt so much while reading this book. My heart broke over and over. How they got lost in each other’s word was beautiful. I love the growth and self acceptances Jonathan had. The reviews under this book were copy and pasted??? I’m not sure why but it stopped me from reading for a while but I have to say I regret not reading it sooner it was absolutely beautiful and well written

i like the two spirit rep. there were some really sweet moments in this book that i loved. just overall a good story and portrayal of queer struggles, natives’ struggles with racism, and coming of age but with a happyish ending.
