About a kid in the 70s and his experience with being gay.  Beautifully written book, heavy TW but worth the read !!

3.5 stars.

The beginning of this book had gotten off to a rocky start for me (and the author, too, I think.) It was internal dialogue, but kind of choppy and weird. It got a lot better as the book went on and I found myself wanting to know what would happen next! The ending wasn't super happy, but it was satisfying. I think my main complaint is that we were shown a lot of back history, but not the memory that I felt was most important. Overall, it was a pretty solid read.

Where to begin with this book? First things first, the love story at the heart of this novel is so incredibly beautiful. It is the heart pounding, universe-spinning, goosebumps and shivers kind of love story that breaks and heals your heart all at the same time. I spent all 347 pages wishing and hoping that Jonathon and Web would someway, somehow find a way back to each other permanently. Just like the extended metaphor from the story: two astronauts floating through a galaxy of stars, finding their way to the same moon. Every time they found a way to be together I couldn’t help but get a little teary-eyed, my heart so full, it could burst. Yes, the love story was

There are many thoughts on this book. There is a part of me that would have loved for them to focus on the romance more but I also love how they brought about how people were treated during these times. The realistic tomes of how his father reacted when he came out was devastating. I also love Brandon including other issues that are occurring at the time with Webs life and Stella's activism. There is not many authors who would think that adding these issues are too much and that people wouldn't care. He did a good job about evening out the romance and the social issues.
