Cop Town, set in 1970s Atlanta and fraught with racism, misogyny, homophobia, sexual harassment and family drama, was really hard to read in a good way. In a time when women couldn't even open a bank account without a man's approval, two female cops navigate a dangerous man's world to solve, not only a crime, but also one of their own. This book illustrates how far we have come as a society but still, we know how much further we have to go.
I am a huge Karin Slaughter fan and this book was another brilliant piece. She had me hooked through the whole thing. A big insight into the police department during the 70s which had me shaking with rage and wanting to chuck the book out my window. Another brill plot line, totally fitting with the time period. She pit all the puzzle pieces together and everything made sense. This is definitely a must read!

Hard to get into/slow to start, but once you got into it, you were in. Interesting read - especially since it takes place in the 70s. I really like her writing style.
This book was most interesting to me for the look into American history and how women and gay men were treated on the police force. It's amazing how badly people were treated not so long ago.
