i really liked maggie and kate and ended up being surprised by the big reveal at the end

I enjoy Karin Slaughter. And it was fun to have a stand alone to read.

A moving and compelling novel that encapsulates a time not too far behind.

The heavy themes were tempered by Gail’s hilarious charm.

“He don’t sulk outta sight. Shit, no man sulks unless a woman can see him. What’s the point otherwise?”

The audiobook was well-read and a worthy listen.

challenging dark slow-paced

I don't think Karin Slaughter could write a book that I wouldn't like, but I had a difficult time reading this one. The amount of racism, misogyny and homofobia  it portraits gave me major anxiety. So check your trigger warnings

Least favorite book of hers, so far.
